Listen MathsThis page contains links to a series of YouTube videos (basically just sound tracks) which can help fix basic mathematical facts and concepts into memory. The counting and number facts videos can be played to children as they go to sleep, or maybe in other situations like while driving. As well as helping to fix the numbers and tables into memory, the tracks may help them go to sleep. The voice is quite soporific. When my third child was one year old, I recorded tapes like these videos and played them as he went to sleep. He liked them: he found them comforting. What's more, he ended up being better at maths than either of my older two children, being the top maths student in his year at school, and becoming a mechanical engineer. Each Counting and Number Facts sequence lasts around 5 minutes, then repeats for the 30 minutes of the video. There are gaps long enough to anticipate the answer or the next number. Each video starts with a title screen, then goes dark while the soundtrack plays. The Fundamental Concepts videos are probably better listened to while fully awake, maybe while driving or at other times when there is nothing else to do. These videos start the same way as the Counting videos, but play through just once. There are no ads or other interruptions in any of the videos. Click the links to open the videos. |
